Limes Country Guest House

Description:

The Limes is a quiet family owned and managed guesthouse on the fringe of the Lake District National Park with scenic views overlooking the Eamont river valley.

Much of the interior retains the original features such as the pine staircase and substantial marble fireplaces. Outside is a private parking area and large garden which guests can enjoy.

What We Offer: Six comfortable rooms. Quiet rural location. Single occupancy discount. Reduced rates for stays of 2 or more nights. Free Wifi on fast, fibre broadband. Private driveway for easy parking.

We serve a Full English breakfast including traditional, locally-made Cumberland sausages, with homemade jam and marmalade for your toast. Lighter options are also available, the choice is yours! We do not provide an evening meal, but there are many places within a short distance to eat out and we do provide facilities for people to use the dining room in the evening if they wish to bring food in, where a microwave and fridge are provided. We will, of course, take care of any washing up.

Location:

Our rural setting is a short drive from M6 J40 where the A66 Trans Pennine trunk road crosses, ideally located for overnight stops or longer visits to the area. It is a fine and spacious late 19th Century Victorian farmhouse with a warm family atmosphere.

Pooley Bridge and the Ullswater Cruisers are only four miles away and "The Limes" is ideally located for easy access to any area of The Lake District, Eden Valley, Pennines, Yorkshire Dales, Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish Borders. As a family of cyclists ourselves we offer secure cycle storage for those on the coast to coast cycle route, which passes our front door. We are also happy to offer route suggestions to those who just wish to tour the local area.
