Enjoy a warm welcome at Henshaw Barn, a luxurious, boutique barn conversion, serenely situated in the heart of Hadrian's Wall country, and within walking distance of Vindolanda.

Sympathetically restored, packed with original features, and oozing character and charm, Henshaw Barn has 2 delightful and individual guest bedrooms,(one ensuite, and one with private bathroom facilities.) Both rooms are tastefully furnished with country antiques, supremely comfortable beds and quality bed linen - with bathrobes, hairdryers and luscious toiletries provided as standard - plus flat screen TV's (with freeview), well stocked "welcome" trays, and free WiFi, plus a comfortable and cosy guest sitting room, with a TV., a small fridge, and a wealth of local information - sufficient to satisfy the most curious of guests.

At Henshaw Barn seize the opportunity to indulge in a memorable, gastronomic experience. Our breakfasts are amazing (with homemade black pudding a house speciality.) Lighter options and local specialities are also very available. Food is fresh and locally sourced whenever possible. And for a perfect end to a perfect day our classically trained, professional chef will provide a choice of delicious evening meals from our extensive menus.



Location:

On the fringe of the National Park, Henshaw Barn is a mere 4 miles from the Roman Wall. Once there the major heritage sites of Housesteads, the Roman Army museum, Brocolitia, and Vindolanda are easy to acess. The B6318 (the old military road)links up with the A69, which ,in turn, is a direct link to the M6 and the A1.

The picturesque market towns of Hexham and Corbridge are almost on our doorstep, with Newcastle Airport reachable in 40 minutes, and beyond that Newcastle itself - great for shopping, great for culture, great for nightlife. And in the opposite direction is Carlisle - with its wonderful cathedral, brilliant museum, and historic castle.

Within easy travel, but a little further afield, are Lanercost Priory, Cragside, Wallington Hall, and Alnwick Castle and further up the coast, Craster, Dunstanburgh and brilliant Bamburgh, only a little of what Northumberland has to offer, alongside dark skied Kielder, Cuthbert's Lindisfarne (Holy Island), dramatic coastlines, beautiful beaches, glorious gardens, and warm, friendly people.
